Part Four - Writing the Last 100 Pages of PHP Code

100 Pages of PHP Code

In this article we will discuss the last one hundred pages of code from our PHP application. This is the 'final' code that is part four of a series of articles on writing part one and two of this series.

Part Four - Writing the Last 100 Pages of PHP Code

PHP LOOP

This last part includes the loop that will have the string 'like' on the header of each list. Then the next list will be created. This will be used in a similar way to how the first list was created and is designed to show the different types of lists. Each of the other lists will contain different types of data so you can change the way the code is presented so that it will look like a table in a database.

The code for the first list will be the same as the code for the second and will look like this:

The next part will include the loop that is used to display the data of the first list. It will start at the end of the header list and move forward until the closing tag of the second list. The loop is designed to display the number of links and the length of the links to all the links in the index.php file.

Control PHP Variables

The next part includes the PHP code that will control the length of the link in the index.php file. The reason for this is that each link will be numbered. By using a variable to control this variable will help to avoid mistakes in the next part.

To make sure that the links are numbered properly, you will need to use the variable for the website name, the link type and the type of link. The number of links will be displayed in bold.

  1. Next in the series we will be looking at the link that is used to display the title and author of the website. The link will be shown with a different style than the list link which is more graphic in design.
  2. The second part of the last few pages of code is the next link in the linked list. It will display the main link in the website and then it will display the links that are in the second section of the index.php file.
  3. The third part will cover the code that will display the header on the first page. The website name and the link style of the website will be the three different links.
  4. The fourth part in the series is the part that will cover the coding for the second page. This code will go over the second list and the links.

Finally, we will look at the code for the last page of code. The code for the 'second' page will need to be changed slightly to show the second list, the second list will also display in bold and the second list of links will display in italics.

The code from the final code can be found below. It will have the variable for the website name, the list of links and the links for the second page in italics and the code for the header in bold.
